Common Equipment Questions
Is your ice cream machine going into over-run?
Oftentimes with your machine, it is easy for air to begin getting whipped into the product. When this happens, your mix will expand. Example: Let’s say that you have 50% over-run… This means that with 1 gallon of mix, you now have 1.5 gallons of mix in your machine due to the air.
Single Phase vs Three Phase Electric?
Electrical phases within your business are key when running Taylor equipment. Your electrician might tell you that your electric is good, but remember to pay close attention to the machine specifically. The electrical outlets need to be in compliance with the equipment’s instructions to ensure proper operation. Ask your electrician if you have any questions!
How to know if you need gravity fed equipment or pressurized equipment?
This question all depends on what product is being served as well as the volume anticipated to be served. Pressurized equipment is typically found when the machine is going to produce higher volume and higher over-run. Gravity fed equipment produces less over-run.
Air Cooled or Water Cooled Equipment?
Taylor service technicians will assist you with this question, but to explain it more: Choosing between air cooled or water cooled equipment depends on the air temperature of your location. If your kitchen is a tad cramped and at higher temperatures, we suggest water cooled equipment.
